Jason’s deli provides healthy breakfast and snacks to Galloway Captiva Triathlon participants
(September 4, 2012 -Fort Myers, FL) – The second annual Galloway Captiva Triathlon puts a focus on fun and fitness – and so will the food being provided to more than 750 adult, 140 children, and 100 volunteers participating, thanks to the support of Jason’s deli and the healthy fare it’s preparing for race participants in the Sept. 15-16 event.
“It’s exactly where we want to be,” said Diana Willis, co-owner of the Southwest Florida Jason’s deli restaurants and catering company. “We represent good food to impact the health of our community, and we’re pleased to also support CCMI (the benefiting charity for the event) in its quest to serve the hungry and homeless in Southwest Florida.”
“It’s important that our athletes and volunteers are well nourished after the race,” said Race Director Kate Gooderham. “Jason’s Deli is a natural partner because of its organic and fresh ingredients with a focus on low-fat and nutritious food suited for health-conscious families.”
Last year, Parent’s Magazine recognized Jason’s Deli as the #1 family restaurant chain in the nation. That award was based on an analysis of the food’s content, including: calories, fat, saturated fat and sodium. Editors then looked at the quality of the ingredients (such as whether organic milk or antibiotic–free chicken were offered), and conveniences like call-ahead seating, online ordering, crayons to keep the kids busy, and availability of high chairs and booster seats.
This award is attributed to the quality ingredients, a fresh kids’ menu and a few innovative moves by Jason’s deli. In 2009 Jason’s deli became the first national restaurant to ban high fructose corn syrup in its food. In 2010 went a step further, eliminating artificial colors and dyes from its menu. The motivation for these changes started in the late 1990’s when Jason’s deli began researching the removal of artificial trans fats from the menu. “Our menu is truly healthy, for children and their parents,” Willis added.
In Southwest Florida, participating Jason’s Deli locations include:
• Fort Myers: 13550 Reflection Parkway at Cypress Lake Drive;
• Naples: 2700 Immokalee Road at Airport Pulling Road;
• Cape Coral: 2311 Santa Barbara near Veterans Pkwy;
• Port Charlotte: 1100 El Jobean (State Road 776 at U.S. 41)
About Jason’s Deli: Founded by an Italian family in 1976, the Beaumont, TX-based restaurant chain has nearly 225 delis in 28 states. Jason’s deli is currently No. 1 in sales among fast, casual restaurant chains with fewer than 300 locations (QSR Magazine, January 2009).
About the event: The Galloway Captiva Triathlon at South Seas Island Resort is a weekend family, fun and fitness event comprised of two children’s triathlons on Sept. 15 (ages 6-9: 100 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 0.5 mile run; ages 10-13: 200 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run) and an adult sprint triathlon on Sept. 16 (swim 440 yards [0.25 mile], bike 10 miles, run 3.1 miles [5K].) All events will take place on Captiva Island. The event, which expanded its registration limits for its second year, is sold out with a wait list for entries.

Kids Eat Free Event at Jason’s Deli
Kids Eat Free Event at Jason’s Deli
For one week in August, kids eat free at SW Florida Jason’s locations
(July 27, 2012 -Fort Myers, FL) – Going back to school can be stressful for parents and their children. To ease the transition, Jason’s deli is offering a week of free meals for children at four locations in Southwest Florida during the week of August 6 through August 12. For every adult entrée and drink purchased, families will receive up to two complimentary kid’s meals. Jason’s deli offers fresh, healthy and convenient meal options that appeal to all ages.
“Between shopping for clothes and school supplies and getting back into a standard routine, families are overwhelmed. This is our way of saying, you deserve a break to start off the school year right,” said Diana Willis, owner operator of Southwest Florida Jason’s delis, and mother of two boys.
The offer has some restrictions as it only applies to dine-in service, and the children (under 12) must be present.

Payton Wright Foundation Benefits from Jason’s Deli Promotion
(May 23, 2012 – Sarasota, FL) – Jason’s deli of Southwest Florida owner and operator Diana Willis presented Holly and Patrick Wright with a $1,750 check for the Payton Wright Foundation. The donation was a result of the Jason’s deli’s complimentary drink card and match of customer donations given to the cause by Jason’s deli customers at the 5231 University Parkway, Sarasota, location last month.
The donation will support the mission of the Lakewood Ranch-based Foundation for pediatric brain cancer to foster research to find new treatments, as well as to financially assist families who are caring for a child with brain cancer.
“The tireless fight the Wright family gives to this important cause, pediatric brain cancer, is both heart wrenching and heartwarming,” says Diana Willis, Jason’s deli of Southwest Florida owner and operator. “We’re proud to support this organization and those who benefit from the Wrights’ work.”
The Payton Wright Foundation was founded in 2008 by Patrick and Holly Wright in memory of their daughter Payton who passed away at the age of 5 from brain cancer. For more information on the foundation, please visit paytonwright.org for more information.
