Bariatric Surgery Center Opens in Fort Myers Surgical Healing Arts offers comprehensive weight loss surgery options
(Fort Myers, Florida – October 4, 2011) – Dr. Moses K. Shieh has opened a new medical practice offering a full spectrum of medical and surgical weight loss options to residents of Southwest Florida. Surgical Healing Arts performs gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy or laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding for those who have been unable to successfully lose weight though diet and exercise alone. Furthermore, for individuals who currently have a LapBand™ or RealizeBand™, Dr. Shieh and the expert staff at Surgical Healing Arts also have wonderful results in re-starting your weight loss process or continuing the ongoing management of your weight loss.
Dr. Moses and his team are committed to assisting patients in finding the best surgical option for their specific weight loss goals. Their program provides extensive pre- and post-operative education. To provide patients with the best opportunity for successful ongoing weight management, Surgical Healing Arts also offers follow-up support.
“Some people simply cannot lose weight without surgical intervention,” Dr. Moses said. “We frequently see patients who have tried every diet and exercise plan imaginable with little long-term success. Our job is to assist these patients in achieving their short-term weight loss goals through surgery, and then to help them maintain their new weight though healthy diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes.”
Dr. Shieh is experienced in several major weight loss surgical procedures, enabling patients to choose the best option for their needs. He is also trained in cosmetic surgery and offers post-massive weight loss body contouring.
Dr. Shieh received his medical education at Des Moines University in Iowa and completed his residency at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center ( an affiliate of Michigan State University). He is fellowship trained in both laparoscopic bariatric surgery and cosmetic surgery. He is a board certified general surgeon and board eligible in cosmetic surgery. His expertise has been featured in numerous consumer media and academic publications.
