(North Port, FL – October 23, 2012) – Skin cancer is the most common form of all cancers and one out of five people will be affected in their lifetime. Riverchase Dermatology will offer new patients a free skin cancer screening on November 3, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at their newly-opened office, 14840 Tamiami Trail, North Port.

Practice offers a comprehensive approach to skin care and treatment of skin disorders

(North Port, FL – October 9, 2012) Riverchase Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery opened an office in North Port this week, located at 14840 Tamiami Trail, in Port Charlotte. Dr. Ryan Jawitz will staff the office and will offer services including Mohs surgery (for cancers of the skin), as well as cosmetic and general dermatology.

Originally from Bradenton, Dr. Jawitz specializes in dermatologic surgery as well as cosmetic procedures and skin rejuvenation techniques.

Dr. Jawitz graduated from the University of Kentucky and received his medical training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Bradenton, FL). He served his dermatology residency at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital (Ann Arbor, MI) through Michigan State University. While in Michigan he was a clinical instructor at Michigan State University.

Dr. Jawitz is a member of professional organizations including the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic Association, the Florida Osteopathic Association, and the Sarasota Dermatological Society.
