Carolyn Rogers, APR, CPRC

With more than 25 years of experience in public relations, marketing, advertising and nonprofit fund development, Carolyn holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a specialization in public relations from the University of South Florida, Tampa. She has achieved Certification as a Public Relations Counselor (CPRC), and the Universal Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), and is also a member of the Florida Public Relations Association’s Counselor’s Network. In addition, Carolyn has held the designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) from the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy & Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is an emeritus member of the board of trustees of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation and is registered in the state of Florida as a fundraising consultant.

She is a founder of the SWFL Wine & Food Fest, an annual event with a pledge of $10 million to The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, and a $1 million pledge to Florida Gulf Coast University. The event has raised over $5 million net to date and is Lee County’s most successful fundraising event of all time.

Before forming SimplifyPR, Carolyn was co-owner of Briggs & Rogers Marketing and Public Relations. She was also owner of Carolyn Rogers Public Relations, a public relations agency established in 2005 handling public relations programs for a variety of public relations accounts along with special event planning such as An Evening with Jane Pauley, The Rock On Scramble & Jam, the Southwest Florida Wine Fest and more. Prior to that, she served as director of development for Canterbury School and Lee Memorial Health System Foundation/The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, and worked in health care marketing and public relations for physician practices in Fort Myers and as PR Specialist at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

Carolyn was recognized as PR Professional of the Year in 2012 by the Southwest Florida of the Florida Public Relations Association, and her work has been recognized by FPRA with Golden Image Awards for best public relations program in the state for special events 2010, 2009, and for best community relations program 2008. She also received local awards including recognition by the Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA for special events and printed tools, and a 2009 Silver Addy awarded by the SWF Chapter of the Ad Federation for best brochure/sales kit.
